DBAs (“doing business as”) are required for New York LLCs, Corporations, and Limited Partnerships that wish to conduct business under a name other than their true legal name according to N.Y. General Business Law § 130. For these entities, a DBA (aka Certificate of Assumed Name) must be filed with the New York Department of State in Albany.
